NLP Communication Model

Our Brain Relies On Visual Memories.

Thanks to one of our NLP graduates, who has asked me a couple of questions about the human brain. Let me share with you a DVD titled “Brain Story” by BBC if you want to go in depth about how our brain works without taking a degree course in Biology or Neuro-science. Watch this for a start.

If your listen attentively to the narration, it describes the NLP Communication Model. In the video, it states that “our visual brain is a 2-way street”. In other words, whatever we perceived in our head not only comes from what we see but also what we expect to see (retrieving information from our stored memory). This is described in our NLP Communication Model where the IR (Internal Representation) of any event is created from what we visually see as well as our past memories (which is one of our filters that distort, delete and generalise).

Imagine if you have visual memories that are negative that generate fear, procrastination, anxiety, limiting beliefs, etc., then what you perceived will be negative. If you have visual memories that are positive that generates confidence, drive and empowerment, then what you perceived will be positive. Let me ask you this question – if you feel negativity in your life, does this help you to get the results that you want? Of course NOT. As such, to generate the success in wealth, relationship, personal development and health, you MUST know how to change your perception of the world such that you can change them. So how do you do that?

Motivation Strategy

Want to know how to motivate yourself, motivate others, build rapport and influence others?

One of the secrets of success lies in understanding the sequence of thoughts of how you and other people think inside the mind before you or others act.

For example, ask yourself this question and think it through in a sequential manner. What are the sequence of events that have taken place before you purchase your watch, your shoe, your shirt/blouse? Was it something you see? Or something you hear? Or it’s just a feeling? Continue to ask these questions and you will realise that there is a sequence that has taken place before your make a decicion. Interesting, isn’t it?

Imagine the application that you can have to make yourself stay in a peak performance any time you want. Imagine a scenario that you can build rapport and influence other people positively in any way you want. Wouldn’t that be worthwhile and meaningful for you? For more information, you can read this article Basic Motivation Strategy.

NLP SINGAPORE – NLP Rapport

Posted by on Sep 22, 2009 in NLP Singapore, NLP Success & Life Tips, NLP Techniques | 0 comments

NLP Rapport

There are 2 KEY secrets to People Mastery – 1) Rapport & 2) Influence.

You can’t influence a person without rapport and one of the secrets to building rapport with anyone is to speak their lingo. And to speak their lingo, you would need to understand how they represent information inside their head. Eg.  If a person prefers to represent information in terms of pictures, you will use visual-related words or visually descriptive words. If a person prefers to represent information in terms of sound, you will use auditory-related words or auditory descriptive words.

To understand the how your client represent information, one way is to observe their eye accessing cues. For detail information about eye accessing cues or eye patterns, you can click on the article “Eye Movement and NLP” written by Robert Dilts.

We offer NLP Certification Program and NLP Master Practitioner Training

NLP Video – Excerpt from interview with Robert Dilts

Robert Dilts has been an avid developer, author, trainer and consultant in the field of Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) since its creation in 1975 by John Grinder and Richard Bandler.

He is best known for his work on beliefs, strategies and Systemic NLP. One of a popular technique that Robert has introduced into the NLP arena includes Sleight of Mouth, a set of language patterns for shifting beliefs, Changing Belief Systems with NLP, Beliefs: Pathways to Health and Well-Being with Tim Hallbom and Suzi Smith and many others. He is also the primary author of NLP, Volume 1 with Richard Bandler, John Grinder and Judith Delozier.
I personally like many of his NLP tools that were taught in NLP University such as Neuro-logical Levels of Change. I have encompassed many of his tools into our Roadmap to Success II (NLP Master Practitioner Certification) Programme.
